The Samaritan Center

samaritan-center

One of Shepherd of the Valley’s outreach programs is serving a hot meal to the homeless once a month at the Samaritan Center in Simi Valley. We serve a picnic style dinner of fried chicken, potato salad, vegetables, rolls, and cookies the first Wednesday of each month from 4:45 – 6:00. The Samaritan Center is located at 280 Royal Ave, Simi Valley. If you would like to volunteer to help with this ministry, please contact Yvonne Baird at 805-584-2521.

The Samaritan Center is dedicated to help the unhoused in Simi Valley. They work with each individual to access the services.

Still Waters Pantry

The Still Waters Pantry emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic and has brought a myriad of goods to our community, including non-perishables, dairy, produce, meat, etc.  We are grateful to support our community by sharing and caring for our neighbor.  The Pantry is open every Thursday from 2-6pm, located at 4191 Cochran Street. For more information, please call 805-526-7577.

Would you like to donate?
Thank you!  Donations can be made on Wednesdays from 10am-1pm in Eichele Hall.  Donations can also be dropped anytime at our Little Free Pantry located on the northeast corner of Eichele Hall, accessible from the east parking lot.

Interface

Interface is a local non-profit organization committed to providing resources, especially to those fleeing domestic violence, and towards preventative action.  For more information, check out: www.icfs.org/.

The congregation of SVLC supports Interface Children and Family Services by our contributions of women’s care bags, children’s care bags, toys, clothing, gift cards, cash and Amazon wish list items.  If you’d like to help or give, contact Carol Ramsey or the church office at 805-526-7577.

Relay for Life

SVLC participates each year in Relay for Life, a 24 hour-event that benefits the American Cancer Society- “cancer doesn’t sleep so neither do we.”  Teams, like the one from SVLC, raise money for research, preventative care, etc. in the name of defeating cancer.  This annual event takes place each October.  Check out: Relay for Life.  Contact Julie Honda or the church office at 805-526-7577
